1. Who we are

Buoycott is an Australian decluttering tool for your home and your spending. What you clear out teaches you what not to buy next — turning decluttering into mindful, intentional consumption. You can contact us at contact@buoycott.com.au.

2. What we collect

We collect only the personal information you choose to give us, limited to:

  • your name and email address when you contact us, submit the contact form, or sign up for updates; and
  • the content of any message you send us.

We do not require you to create an account. Your in-app activity (such as your lightness score and item history) is stored only in your device's browser — it is never sent to us.

We do not collect payment information, sensitive information, or health data.

3. Why we collect it

We collect your contact details to respond to your enquiry. If you have opted in, we may also use your email address to send you news, updates, and marketing about Buoycott.

4. Consent and marketing

We only send marketing emails if you have given us explicit consent — for example, by ticking an opt-in checkbox. Every marketing email includes an easy unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing contact@buoycott.com.au. We handle marketing communications consistently with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

5. Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the website and send emails (for example, our email delivery provider). These providers may process data on servers outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled appropriately.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable security safeguards to protect your information. We keep it only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then securely delete it.

7. Access, correction, and complaints

You have the right to access or correct personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at contact@buoycott.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
