At Buoycott, we believe in being entirely transparent about how we plan to sustain and grow this service.

Current Preview Phase

During this initial preview phase, Buoycott is completely free to use. We do not run advertisements, and there is no active revenue model. The 'Make it Real' options shown in the demo are simulated examples only — no partner relationships or referral fees are currently active, and no partner names or logos are displayed until a signed agreement is in place.

What Buoycott Is — and Is Not

Buoycott isn't a marketplace at the moment — we don't sell your items or any products. When you're ready to act on something you've let go, we point you to a charity drop-off to donate it, or to the right way to recycle or dispose of it responsibly (recycling, general waste, or council hard-waste collection). A marketplace-style feature is something we're exploring for the future — a potential option that could be coming soon. If it ever launches, it'll be clearly introduced and completely optional.

How You Are Charged

You only ever pay for your subscription (Buoycott Plus, coming soon). You are never charged for a handoff itself — donating and recycling through Buoycott are always free to you.

Our Revenue Plan

Our revenue plan is still being finalised. To keep the core Buoycott experience free, we're currently developing two potential revenue streams for the future:

  • Buoycott Plus: A planned optional paid subscription that would offer partner-backed handoffs (donate to a charity of your choice at a convenient drop-off, or recycle/dispose responsibly), a personal impact-history ledger, and a weekly Sunday Reset summary.
  • Partner fees (in progress): When partner handoffs go live, our charity and recycling/disposal partners — not you — would pay Buoycott a small fee when a handoff is made through the app. No partner names or logos will appear until a signed agreement exists, and we will always clearly label any action that involves a partner relationship.

These plans are still in development and may change, and nothing is being charged today.
