You log what you own, and when something leaves the house, Buoycott works out what it actually cost you for every month you kept it. Over time, that shows you which things are worth buying and which ones you'll be clearing out again.

A buoy floats. The name is about what rises and what sinks — what stays in your home and what goes. It isn't about boycotting brands or companies, and it isn't connected to any campaign or activism app.

No. Budgeting apps track money in and out of your accounts. Buoycott tracks individual things you own — what they cost, how long you kept them, and whether you'd buy them again. You can use both.

No. Buoycott doesn't connect to banks or read your transactions. You add items yourself, which takes a few seconds each.

Most decluttering apps help you sort and dispose of things. Buoycott also records what each thing cost and when you bought it, so it can show you the pattern behind what you're clearing out — and remind you of it next time you're about to buy something similar.

It's the purchase price divided by how many months you actually kept the item. A $340 air fryer you used for seven months cost you $48 a month. The price tag doesn't tell you that. Only the moment it leaves does.

An exit event is the moment something leaves your home — sold, donated, gifted or binned. Logging it takes about fifteen seconds and closes the loop on that item. It's the part that makes everything else in Buoycott work.

No. Start with things you're about to buy and things you're clearing out. You'll get useful patterns from a few dozen items, not thousands.

Buoycott is built for that. You can tap through a batch of items and log them all at once rather than one at a time.

No. Buoycott shows you your own history and leaves the decision to you. It doesn't score you, rank you, or judge your purchases, and pattern insights can be switched off.

A mobile app is planned. Buoycott is being built for the phone first, because that's where you are when you're buying something or clearing out a cupboard.

Buoycott will have a free version. Pricing for any paid features hasn't been finalised, and waitlist members will hear about it before anyone else.

Buoycott is being built so your item data stays on your device wherever possible. Anything that does leave your device is set out in the privacy policy, and Buoycott doesn't sell data to anyone.

No. Buoycott has no marketplace, no affiliate links and no resale commissions. Nothing about how Buoycott makes money depends on you buying or selling more.

You'll be able to use the core features without creating an account. An account will be optional, for syncing across devices.

Yes. Buoycott is built in Australia, in Australian dollars, with Australian donation and disposal options in mind.
